New West Buckhead Residence

Having made an exhaustive search for a larger home in the area, the owners of this property decided to tear down their 1920s brick ranch and build a new two-story home on their 3-acre property in Buckhead. The owner, an interior designer, wanted a home that could showcase her traditional antique furniture collection, an eclectic mix of French, Italian, and English pieces. The home features a traditional front entry hall with formal living and dining at the front of the home, with a more casual rear of the house opening up in plan to feature a kitchen-family room. The traditional porte cochere, which doubles as an entertainment space, features a vaulted, boarded ceiling to showcase the owner’s antique chandeliers. Careful planning allowed the front entry brick terrace and walkways of the original 1920s home to be saved and incorporated into the new Tudor-inspired design.
